Stop working

Almost retired

Six months before your your retirement age, you receive a letter from PCN about the start date of your pension, together with a number of forms for you to sign and send back. This is required to process your pension benefit in time.

You receive your PCN pension from the moment of your retirement, for as long as you live. If you were born before 1964, your retirement age is 65. If you were born in or after 1964, your retirement age is 66.

Retire earlier

It is possible to retire as from the age of 60, you do not have to wait until the moment you reach the age of 65 or 66. If you want to retire earlier, you will receive a lower pension benefit. This is because your accrual has been over a shorter period of time and the accrued pension will be paid out for a longer period of time.
If you want to stop working earlier, please contact one of our offices to arrange this.

Retire later

You can also choose to have your pension start later than on the retirement age of 65 (if you were born before 1964) or age 66 (if you were born in or after 1964). You can postpone your pension until the age of 70 at the latest. Since you are retiring later, you will receive a higher pension benefit. If you continue in the service of your employer after your retirement age, you will also continue to accrue pension at PCN.

Commutation of pension

If the value of your accrued old age pension is lower than a certain minimum on the day of your retirement, then you will receive your entire pension in one go. In that case you will not be entitled to a monthly benefit.
